I am a designer in Baltimore, Maryland, trained primarily in print design but with professional experience in print, web, and user experience design.

I began doing freelance graphic design while I was still a PhD student at the University of Maryland…When I realized how much more fun I was having designing posters than doing my actual classwork, my fate was sealed. I’ve continued occasional freelance work, have spent time as an in-house designer at Johns Hopkins University and an economic development nonprofit in DC, and am currently a UX designer at an educational technology company. I enjoy both the creative process of conventional design work and the technical problem-solving process of coding my designs. Past projects include posters, brochures, books, websites and web graphics, HTML emails, postcards, direct mail pieces, certificates, logos, media covers and more.

In regular life, I like cycling, travel, travel for the purpose of cycling, writing, film (especially documentaries), ogling all types of art and drinking coffee. I reread books by John Steinbeck, George Orwell and Hunter Thompson almost continually. Back in college I studied Latin American history and can still talk enough about it that most people stop paying attention. My ambition is to ride a century in every state — (nine states and counting so far). You can read more about my cycling adventures at my blog, golefty.
